Timing ...2020 rather than 2019

It looks like I will move my EuroMed eKaymaran Adventure paddle to 2020.

There are two reasons for this.
1.Through the summer and now into the fall, I became passionately and completely drawn into the artistic side of my life, creating several new digital pieces and developing a new concept for a possible new commission. If I'm awarded this commission I would need to dedicate all my time to it; January through June of 2019.
2. A total review of the first eKaymaran prototype we created has given rise to new and important ideas to streamline manufacturing and lighten the craft. I will incorporate these improvements into the design and create and test a second prototype in 2019.

I will be a year older, a tad wiser, and of course the Thames and the Med will still be there.

eKaymaran Adventures

The general idea of eKaymaran Adventures is to paddle in earnest between established ports, enjoying the paddle but allocating valuable discovery time to spend in port. Most such "kruises" follow a path from an urban setting, through a semi urban environment, on to parklands...and then back again. There is some semi-wilderness out there but it's either much further afield or reduced to bands or sanctuaries.

Each adventure, no matter how many ports are linked together, can be planned so that the trip offers an adventurous environmental mix.

During the 19th and the 20th centuries human civilization capitalized on rives, lakes, and intercostal waterways for its expansion and these once more frequently paddled routes offer scenic passage and abound with history.

Passage between the worlds major ports-of-call cross political boundaries and cultural divides. Threading ones way through them with a capable paddle craft is a thrilling prospect. My 2020 EuroMed, eKaymaran Adventure is an excellent example of what the Kruisefit's "eKaymaran Adventures" concept is all about.

EUROMED 2020:

KRUISEFIT
:
    • The bio composite Kruisefit eKaymaran I will be paddling is fitted with features that facilitate paddling through a mix of urban, semi-urban and parkland environments.

      • I will make good use of the eKaymaran's on-board sleeper while paddling; with waterside B&B breaks for hot showers and local conversation. Kruisefit's built-in portable kitchen, siting quietly under the removable front hood of the cabin, will be set up with everything I need to prepare my meals. I will buy fresh produce in the local markets. With all the paddling I certainly won't be counting calories. I will generate the electricity I need with the Kruisefit on-board solar panels; to keep my phone and laptop charged and maintain my blog.
